Colorless discharge, called leucorrhea, occurs in every woman. Their appearance is considered normal. Few know, but the male body can also drain fluids. Men tend to pay less attention to this than women, but only until whites appear in particular and start to cause discomfort.
What discharge is considered normal in men
In men, the discharge is the appearance of fluid or mucus of a different color from the outer opening of the urethra. This phenomenon is most often the norm, but in some cases it may indicate the presence of the disease.
It is quite easy to notice the appearance of abundant secretions. They can appear all day long after a long sleep or urination. The slight flow from the urethra is seen on the underpants with the appearance of small flesh-colored or white spots.
The process is considered normal in the following cases:
- With strong sexual arousal, against the background of an erection (smegma, natural lubrication);
- During a wet dream (spontaneous eruption of sperm);
- With experiments performed during defecation;
It should be noted that the appearance of a small amount of white or clear fluid on the head of the penis during intense arousal is not considered a deviation from the norm, but on the contrary, indicates a man’s reproductive health.
Concern can cause the appearance of leukorrhea outside of sexual intercourse when the penis is not in a state of excitement. Their appearance most often indicates the presence of any inflammatory process in the organs of the reproductive system. The skilled artisan can make an accurate diagnosis by performing a diagnostic test. Often, the appearance of secretions from the urethra is one of the main symptoms of a sexually transmitted disease such as chlamydia. They often make fun of such a phenomenon, saying, "dripping from the end, " but nothing funny in the presence of the disease.
White, cheese, gray, yellow or transparent - which can mean color
The color, transparency, and texture of the male and female secretions may be different. These signs vary depending on the disease leading to the appearance of the proteins, its intensity, and stage. The secretion is usually a combination of cells, fluid and mucus. Transparency usually depends on the number of cells in them. The turbidity of whites indicates the presence of a large number of cells in them, and in the case of a large number of epithelial cells, the fluids thicken and take on a gray tinge. The greenish and yellow colors are a sign of the predominance of leukocytes. White, cheesy secretions from the urethra indicate the presence of a disease such as candidiasis (thrush).
Male candidiasis is rare. This may be due to a decrease in immunity due to uncontrolled use of antibiotics, chemotherapy, etc. because of. A man with normal immunity never gets candidiasis from his sexual partner. Therefore, the appearance of the main symptom is the reason for contacting professionals and a complete diagnosis of the body.
When a patient complains of urethral discharge, the doctor usually sends it for analysis. They are carefully studied under laboratory conditions. You can use a microscope to determine the presence of Trichomonas, a gonococcus, yeast in a patient's body. If bacteria are found that cannot be identified microscopically, the secretion is assigned to the medium. Treatment is most often done with antibiotics, but there is no point in taking medication until a correct diagnosis is made. In such cases, your doctor will prescribe a wide range of antibiotics and take special medications to make a diagnosis. Self-healing usually does not produce positive results but, on the contrary, contributes to the transition of the disease to a latent chronic form.
Fluid from the urethra is excreted by the body in response to infections in it. Their abundance can be used to judge the extent of infection. The main cause of leukorrhea in a man is often a disease called urethritis (inflammation of the urethra). In this case, the mucous membrane produces large amounts of mucus and red blood cells, which are protective factors. Fluid that has accumulated at the site of inflammation is also mixed with the secretions.
The second most common cause of male secretions is mechanical damage to the urethra in the urine of chemicals and salt crystals. The exit of small kidney stones also contributes to damage to the inner wall of the urethra.
White fluid, itching and burning - what is it?
White discharge from the urethra, accompanied by severe itching and burning, is a sign of:
- chlamydia (an infectious disease that is spread through unprotected sexual contact and is caused by chlamydia);
- mycoplasmosis (a widespread infectious disease caused by mycoplasmas, organisms between bacteria and viruses);
- ureaplasmosis (an infectious sexually transmitted disease caused by unicellular organisms - ureaplasmas).
White discharge with a foamy consistency often indicates the presence of the world's most common sexually transmitted disease, trichomoniasis.
And finally, the appearance of white fluid from the urethra can be one of the symptoms of a very unpleasant and dangerous disease - inflammation of the prostate. In this case, the appearance of leucorrhoea is usually accompanied by difficulty urinating and sexual dysfunction. Sometimes discharge may indicate prostorrhea or urethrorhoea. An accurate diagnosis is always made only by a urologist.
As can be seen, in many cases, the appearance of secretions in men is a matter of considerable concern and prompt medical attention, as treatment of most urogenital diseases that did not begin at that time can have such serious consequences as e. g. impotence or infertility.
